The restaurant XYZ is housed inside the W Hotel in San Francisco!  WXYZ!

(That amuses me probably more than normal people.)

I love me some high ceilings and XYZ had ‘em, as well as some comfy chairs… with cushions!  I love me some cushions.  A little bit of ambiance goes a long way with me.  Add those elements to the dark brown wood and the ‘Smile’ exhibit that XYZ was supporting (the one that said “take the money and run” made me grin from ear to ear) and all I was missing was a fur stole and a cocktail.  It is a real classy and classic joint.

It was a very short shoot, but the number of photos that I love…!  Gavin brought his cinematic style to our shoot to create photos that are intimate, natural, even candid.  Like if you and your lover were romping in bed and one of you whips out a camera…  Yeah, that was the feel he was going for and I think we really hit it.

Facepalm #174 – Get your heads out of the gutter!

Every now and then a model runs across a photographer who very earnestly wants to shoot nudes.

This is not one of them.

I messaged him five years ago because he was a photographer and I was a brand-new model just starting out, trying to get a portfolio together.  He recently e-mailed me to see if the e-mail address was still valid.

Obviously, I have come a long way and have absolutely no burning need to entertain n00bs like him.

Christmas 2010

You know your husband is a good one when he knows exactly what to give you for Christmas.

For the adrenaline-junkie in me, a flight in a four-seater airplane from Oakland Airport!  I hope the weather clears up next week so we can fly!

(Past gifts have included sky-diving and hang-gliding.)

And for the fashionista in me, a pretty dress from Anthropologie, which I have dubbed my ballerina dress!  It’s a pretty nude-colored dress with lace overlay and lace insets on the skirt.

(It’s a smart idea because I wouldn’t buy any clothes from Anthropologie for myself, so he could be sure that I wouldn’t have ordered it already.)

And if that wasn’t enough,

As for what I got for him: a night and dinner at Meadowood (I have doubts about being able to book during his February break, yikes!), a leather book cover with reading light (a little lame, but it’s so cool!), and ceramic knives.

Review: Yes To Carrots Lip Gloss

The cool folks over at Yes To Carrots sent over a pretty little lip gloss in Flirty Pink to try, but I was way ahead of ‘em!

I’d already procured it in Playful Nude about two months ago and here’s what I have to say about it.

Review: Yes To Carrots Lip Butter

I have been afraid of wax-based lip glosses ever since middle school, when my favorite Lip Smackers in Watermelon chapped my lips.  The edges of my lips would dry out and then feel raw and turn red and it would take days to recover.

So when the folks over at Yes To Carrots sent a couple of Lip Butters over I thought, Well this was a bad idea.
