This Dr Hauschka kit is my second foray into the world of organic skincare.
Did it fare better than the Suki kit?
This Dr Hauschka kit is my second foray into the world of organic skincare.
Did it fare better than the Suki kit?
I continue to be horrified by the condition of my skin. Two months back from Singapore and it still hasn’t gone back to the way it was. SIGH.
I know that some synthetic compounds work even better than many organic “all-natural” skincare, but I’ve been curious about them (especially since pure vitamin E oil transformed my skin from “totally sh*tty” to “hey this is salvageable”) and really, I don’t have anything to lose at this point.
Enter Suki.
Beech swears by Mario Badescu and the last time I used it was 2006 and it was only samples – back then I didn’t have the means to buy their skincare. Now that my face is all states of fug – the result of all kinds of recklessness in Singapore, as well as extreme change in diet and climate, insufficient sleep, and water – and I have the means, so I have no excuse to keep hemming and hawing over it.
Those five little products are gonna change my skin… and my life. Well, one hopes…
… because if the canvas is lousy, there’s little point in getting new paint.
Cute?
Fair and tanned Charmmy!
Eyeshadows and lipglosses galore!
I treated myself to these babies on the day of the sneak preview at Sephora.com. Not only am I a sucker for make-up palettes, I go weak at the knees for cute Hello Kitty packaging.
*hangs head in shame*
You hush up! There are forty-year-olds worse than me.
The weather in the Bay Area has been gorgeous of late. You’re inside a cozy heated home looking outside and it looks like the perfect summer day, but then you step outside and are hit by the brisk cool air and suddenly it’s late-Fall. I think it’s absolutely wonderful. A week ago I looked up from my computer long enough to witness this awesome sunset:
I have been afraid of wax-based lip glosses ever since middle school, when my favorite Lip Smackers in Watermelon chapped my lips. The edges of my lips would dry out and then feel raw and turn red and it would take days to recover.
So when the folks over at Yes To Carrots sent a couple of Lip Butters over I thought, Well this was a bad idea.
I was given the opportunity to try the rebranded Yes To Tomatoes Daily Clarifying Cleanser.
I have a very oily T-zone and dry cheeks, and my face is prone to acne. When I read that it had red tea in it (I’d always wondered about that, since Ole Henriksen has a line of skincare starring red tea) that’s supposed to be good for keeping skin clear, I was kinda stoked. As for extracts of tomato and watermelon, let’s say my interest was piqued.
This clear and colorless gel-like cleanser lathers like a cream cleanser – that is, not a whole lot – and it feels rich like a cream cleanser. It has a light pleasant smell and rinses off without leaving any residue. My skin felt clean without any tightness.
The back of the tube indicates that product discoloration may occur, which I did observe – the cleanser underneath the cap turned a pale yellow color, but the consistency remained the same, it still lathered normally and smelled fine.
A while back I mentioned that I got some Shu Uemura products from Mercer Street Salon.
I used the trio once in Berkeley, but I really saved them for my Singapore trip. Now that I’ve been here for three weeks, I can properly review the shampoo and conditioner (I’ll get to the polishing milk in a bit) and I am happy to say that they are AMAZING!
I blogged about the rebranding a while back and I was definitely excited for it.
So did it miss, meet, or exceed expectations?
It is no secret now that I love Yes To Carrots‘ rebranding.
(The reason I have reviews just for the packaging is I am so gosh darn excited for it! I love sleek awesome packaging as well as downsizing on the plastic!)
The labels are sleek and there’s much less plastic used in the packaging.
I’ve also noticed that the products have undergone a revamp too!
As with the Yes To Tomatoes Facial Mask, the Yes To Tomatoes Daily Balancing Moisturizer is a tiny bit lighter in texture as well as color.
Check it!
I’ll do a proper product review in the weeks to come.
FULL DISCLOSURE: The rebranded daily moisturizer was generously provided by the people at Yes To Carrots.
I had the opportunity, courtesy of the folks at Yes To Carrots, to try the rebranded Yes To Tomatoes Deep Cleansing Facial Pads.
Before I continue, I should emphasize that the Yes To Tomatoes line is meant for problem skin, not sensitive skin. So if you have problematic sensitive skin… Well, just read on.
